Review: My fiance and I experienced terrible treatment by the senior mechanic at Red Top. We brought the car in because of a strong odor that is permeating the car. After doing a thorough search to locate the source, we bought the car in to be diagnosed. Before bringing it in, we did internet research to try to identify what the problem could be. Some possible causes mentioned was a leak in the exhaust, mold or mildew in the ac unit, a dead animal trapped in the under carriage, burning oil, etc. When we tried to explain the issue to the mechanic, he told us it wasn’t his job to try to identify the issue. He was so rude and disrespectful that it was shocking. He did sit in the car and said it could be anything and that he didn’t want to be bothered trying to diagnose the issue. We tried to explain some of the possible causes mentioned so he could check those areas but he refused. I’ve been bringing my car to Red Top for years and he’s never treated me this way. I’ve also never heard a mechanic say he didn’t want to be bothered and it isn’t his job to try to diagnose a problem. It’s unfortunate because I’ve been a loyal customer for years and also provided referrals to friends. Not only has he lost a previous customer, he lost the opportunity to gain a new one.
